A week ago, my car’s muffler self-destructed, and my regular mechanic wasn’t available to replace it. The only garage that would do it right away was Midas on Commercial St., Malden. I was leery of having them do it however, because I’d had bad experiences with them in the past. But they were under new management since then, so I gave them another chance.
I cannot speak highly enough of the service, actual repairs, and price I got. Rafael, the new manager, treated me as if I were his only customer, and showed me what really needed to be done and what could be preserved to save me money. After I OK-ed the work, I left and picked the car up after work.
I’m picky, and this is by far the best exhaust system repair/replacement I’ve ever had. My car purrs like a kitten now. I’m not the kind of person who writes reviews, -but I have to recommend this shop. The work is high quality and relatively cheap.
The reason I went there was for brakes and a muffler. Dave and the crew were very friendly and did great work on the brakes and muffler. They missed that I had a bad tie rod, but the work they did was exceptional. I will go back for brakes again.
Always great. Great customer service and always great service. I'll always bring my vehicle here whenever it needs service.

They were cheating with me
Every member of the team in Malden has been wonderful. They do their best to get you in and out, even with same day appointments. I've been taking my car there for 3 years, and I have no intention of going anywhere else.

They did a very good job
I made an appointment to get a part replaced three weeks ahead of time. When I arrived, I was told that they had to call and see if the could get the part delivered that day. I had expected that the part would already be there, given how far in advance I made the appointment. They fortunately could get the part that day. But I was annoyed that I had to wait while they called, not knowing if I could leave my car. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the mechanic was not at all receptive and kept talking over me. Prior to this, my experiences have been very good.
